Chapter 40. Abnormalities
Cybele's eyesight darkened and she still had time to meet Gael's gaze before she collapsed.
When she woke up, the doctor was applying a syringe to the IV. Cybele realized she was in her room and looked over to see Gael staring at her worriedly. She smiled.
"I'm fine." She said, intending to comfort him, but it had no effect.
The doctor entered her field of vision.
"Mrs. Luna. You mustn't leave the bed."
"Why not? I feel fine. Dizziness is common in pregnant women."
"Not Lunas. Your placenta has shifted and if you make the slightest effort, you won't be able to carry this pregnancy to term. Mr. Alfa has arranged for this room to be equipped with the latest equipment and some nurses will take turns staying here night and day to help you with bathing and feeding."
