Chapter 67. Three Requests
Cybele got up in time to have lunch with Gael and Bruma. Bruma stood up and curtsied and showed due respect when Cybele entered and sat down, ignoring her.
Lunch was served and for the first time, Cybele was curious about the content of the conversation between Gael and Bruma. And also for the first time, she realized that Bruma had everything she wanted and yet she wasn't happy. The two of them touched each other and she seemed to thirst for those intimate, loving contacts, but Gael, as much as he tried to make it seem as if Bruma was all that mattered to him, there was a certain contempt in his movements. She couldn't understand why she hadn't stopped to observe the situation before. There was trouble in their paradise.
"Are you staying with the children this afternoon?" Gael was asking, his gaze cold.
"If my king allows it, yes." Cybele said with mockery.
He nodded and said no more.
