Chapter 28

Mercedes woke up and stretched her arms wide open with a yawn. She had a good night's sleep in Felix's arms. Speaking of which, he was already gone. His side of the bed was cold, indicating that it'd been a while since he woke up and left. Mercedes's eyes fell on the note lying on his pillow. She reached out for it in confusion until she saw what was written on it.

“Let's go on a date today. I want to take you somewhere nice so we can forget about our troubles for a little while. Wear something casual. Be ready. I'll pick you up later. I can't wait!”

Mercedes giggled after reading. She thought it was unusual and cute. He probably didn't know, but just being with him brought her the biggest joy in her life. But the little things he does also give her butterflies and warmth. The awkwardness between them was slowly but surely fading away.
