Chapter 16. The Dress

When Armona planned and prepared my surprise Coronation, I was taken aback. She did what she wanted, without asking me how I felt about it. If you would have asked, I would have told her I didn't care for one, but there was no way around it so I let sleeping dogs lay.
Unknowingly to her, I knew about everything, because I loathed surprises. I stood in the shadows and watched how she looked over hundreds of dresses a staff of 500 beautiful dark colored men displayed in her enormous high-ceiling bedroom.
No one acknowledged her birthday, and she wasn't bothered. The 500 men stood side by side facing her, holding up dresses that had to be worth pounds of gold, tinkled before her eyes. She floated to each dress as her enormous Crown lowered itself atop her head without disturbing her beautiful mound of nappy hair.
