Chapter 22. The Message

Thousands of frantic people ran for the exits. I remained where I stood. I never ran from anyone or anything in my life and now was not the time to try out for Olympic track, especially when I wasn't into games and sports, even when I was human. I didn't need man-made devices to keep me distracted. This was another reason why I couldn't stand mortals. Everyone ran away like chicken with their heads cut off.
Who was going to run up and stand by my side and help fight this creature was the question. I quickly took it back because I could fight my own battles. This was why I drained them dry every chance that I got. Humans were not worth the spit under the sun on the sidewalk on a hot sunny day after a hard day of work with a dry throat without a cold one to settle your stomach.
"Khovahsh..." Like a ventriloquist, the unknown vampire spoke via the Pastor's voice.
