Chapter 84. Cheerleaders

There was a lot of things going through my mind while I was asleep in the Grand Bedroom of the Queen Mother; the cries of caged animals in torment filtered into my ears. I tried to convince myself that I was still asleep as the cries of torment intensified.
My bed was comfortable as I lay on a comforter that seemed to be swallowing me whole, like an intern of a sperm bank drinking on the job.
My heart pounded, wondering where the cries were coming from. Because I implemented "The Treaty of Animals," I had to do something, but I couldn't do anything without the location of the tormented animals, and my sheets refused to let me go.
I could not ascertain how the cries of the animals found my ears in the first place. Was there something more powerful at play ensuring that I heard the torment because of my treaty?
And if a diabolical being was behind this conspiracy, did he know I would take immediate action?
