Chapter 70
I was so close to the explosive charge that, for a few seconds, I only heard high-pitched beeps in my ears. It’s unpleasant; I could say it’s painful. The dust envelops everything, causing my nose to itch and coughing, lots of coughing.
When it dissipates, I see the big hole, the exit of this hell. Everything has shaken, and some clods of earth, stones, and rocks are still falling to the ground.
“Let’s go!” shouts one of my men. I turn at the roar behind me and see the unhinged members of La Cota hot on our heels.
They’re going to try to get into the tunnel just for the satisfaction of killing me.
“Stanly” the man doesn’t hear me “Stanly!” at last he turns to me “We can’t let those animals get out after us, set some charges, and sink the tunnel on our way out.”
“Yes, boss.” He nods and starts setting the explosive charges. I go back outside, where they are waiting for me.
