Chapter 69

Four weeks. That’s what’s left to finish the tunnel and get out of this torture. With the members of La Cota walking around the prison without being identified, I feel like the most desired prize.

Being locked up all the time, surrounded by the same men day after day, makes you a little paranoid. Now, one of those brainless men wants to kill me. The only viable solution right now is for me to stay in my cell; only then can I avoid trouble.

It’s raising the level of torture but for a good cause. There is always one of my men with me, making sure I survive, especially to go out into the yard. I use what little money we make to try to find out who owns the thinking mind that has created La Cota and take him down. My men, all my acquaintances, have made a surveillance team of me.
