Chapter 114. Broken
Elara POV
The forest that surrounds the Imperial Pack is in bloom. I have never seen flowers on the trees before, and it is like they are welcoming the lost Imperial wolves home. Tears spring to my eyes as I think about what could have been lost, and how grateful I am to be returning to the place I have come to call my second home.
Before Zeke can put the car in park, I am already out of the door. My feet carry me toward the back of the pack house, where I know my son will be waiting for me. I am right. He and Cinder are swimming and laughing loudly when I approach. I stand on the bank and watch them, letting my tears fall freely down my cheeks.
Phoenix pops out of the water and squeals when he sees me. “Mommy.”
He tries to swim to shore, but Cinder holds him back playfully.
“Let me go,” he fights her. “I want to see my mommy.”
