Chapter 117. One Year Later

I am not sure what to expect when I step into the arena at the Sapphire Pack. It has been a year since the dirt was stained red with the blood of our allies and our enemies. Many lives were lost here, and the Gemstone Packs decided that today should be a day of remembrance.

As I step into the sunlight, I am met with a breathtaking view. Banners of all of the Gemstone Packs fly side by side. Grass covers the arena, reminding me that even from the darkest parts of our history, new life can always be formed. Tears streak down my face, and Zane groans loudly.

“She is crying again.”

Faith giggles at my side. “She is always crying.”

I glare at the two of them. “You try being pregnant.”

Faith wrinkles her nose. “No, thank you. I don’t wish to have a mate or children.”

Zeke snorts. “Keep that energy, Little One.”
