‘Ainslee is naked!’ I protest to anyone who can hear me, even though Jerim is still working chains out of places that burned deep.

‘Yes, well-spotted,’ Sophia replies, grinning for some reason.

‘She can use her mind-link to talk to us for some reason.’ Sophia chuckles at my expression.

‘She…’ Jerim pulls free a particularly deep chain, and I feel woozy.

‘Hang on,’ Ainslee says, taking my hand and putting it to her cheek.

“We need to get him to the medical wing. You there,” Jerim barks at two of the freed guards as Zeke produces a cloak and drops it over Ainslee’s shoulders. I feel slightly better that she’s not naked in front of everyone. I know it’s part of wolf shifter culture not to be modest, bu
