"What of you?"

"Pardon?" I blinked. 

"When did you realize you weren't human? Riven said your parents were killed during the great war before the former rulers of Lyxants were murdered. Is that right?" His gaze was still suspicious like he was trying to sniff a lie out.

"Yes. My mum sent me to Earth through a portal. She locked my powers and wiped my memories. I discovered I was different two years ago."

"What triggered it?" He pressed, not giving me enough chance to think of my response.

"Someone from Lyxant. I was kidnapped and drugged with -"

The cracking of knuckles interrupted me. I glanced towards Riven, whose expression was murderous. It was an expression I'd never seen on him. Riven had always been the smiling type. Seeing him so pissed made me realize I knew little about him.
