Chris didn't initiate any conversation with me throughout the flight back to our state. She must have realized I would not answer any of her questions, especially the ones that had to do with the dragons. I wouldn't have told her anything about him because she doubted my words when I so graciously wanted to tell her about Riven and how I met him. She made me seem like a child that couldn't distinguish between reality and fantasy, and that hurt so fucking much. I didn't like the feelings it invoked in me.

My mates had a car pick us up at the airport because they were busy. They would have been the ones to pick me up but had to change at the last minute because of something they had to take care of. 

"I'm sorry," Chris said on the ride back to the mansion. "I shouldn't have doubted you when you told me about the dragons. I only did that because I believed you made it up to console yourself for not finding the real ones."

I pretended I didn't hear her
