Chapter 12. Lies

Rhea’s POV

My eyes flashed a series of colors before they instantly disappeared into my normal hue, and my body twitched as I tried to move. But it felt as if someone was squeezing my throat, making it impossible for me to breathe.

Lifting my gaze, I stared at Kian. My eyes still burned with pain flashing through them.

“What did you give me?” I yelled, my veins popping out.

“Easy, and endure the pain. It is just for a few minutes.” Tears blurred my vision.

Patting my cheek, he smiled and picked up the cup. “Try and rest.” No matter how he tried to sound nice, the coldness in his voice couldn’t go unnoticed.

Standing at his feet, he spared me one last glance and walked away, leaving me all alone.

My whole body ached, as if I was inside a burning lava.

I tried crawling back to the bed when suddenly I felt a sharp pain around my chest. I gasped and grabbed hold of my blouse in pain.
