Amber watched Connor and Lucia disappearing through the portal, she finally turned towards Darach.

The portal was just beside him, only three steps away from where he was kneeling.

Amber kneeled in front of him. To her surprise Darach touched her face with such tenderness that it touched her heart.

A frown was set on his face. He was trying to wipe the blood from her face but Amber knew that the blood won’t stop. It had happened before when she had gone against the laws of nature.
