Chapter 45. Nightmares

Alexa woke drenched in sweat. She had that nightmare again

She’d been having this nightmare since she saw that doctor who helped her during her delivery. What could it mean? And why did she have to have it now? What triggered it this time? Was it her proximity with the Lycan king? Or was it the information her father gave her about her half-sister and step mother?

It was always the same. A man in lab coat, bending over her, a woman, holding a baby wrapped in a shawl, walking away hurriedly. She always tried to see the face of the woman but she couldn’t but on two occasions now, she saw the face of a monster on the body of the woman and the monster was looking jeeringly at her, the strange thing was that the monster’s jeering expression was frightening, yet familiar.
