Chapter 401. You’re So Gorgeous

Apphia POV

My body reacts to him without seeing him. How is it so attuned to his presence? Nicholas slips his arms around me and kisses the back of my head. My belly uncurls with butterflies. His closeness is exhilarating. I glance up at him, wet hair hanging over his forehead. How was I fortunate enough to be blessed with such a man? I must have done something right in my previous life- maybe rescue puppies and kittens.

There is a trace of a smile on Nicholas’ face as he cocks his head to the side, “What is it, Apphia,”

I exhale and lean into him, my back pressed against his chest.

“You’re so gorgeous,” I mutter, shy.

“Is that so? Why thank you,” he seems amused.

He unexpectedly tugs us, and we fall onto the couch, me on his lap. His nose is buried in my neck, making a content sound from his throat. We are silent and enjoying our time together.
