“I want to ask him why Amir is so hell-bent to have me,”

“We already know why. The fucker wants you to be his lover,” he says as though the words scorched him.

“There should be another reason. Amir always made me uneasy since I was a kid, and my mom didn’t like him,” I explain. “Better yet, why don’t I speak to Amir himself?”

Now that I have the royal family by my side and I’m his future Queen, he wouldn’t dare do anything to me.

“No, Lily can get us the information. She can get in his head with her telepathic abilities,” he says with finality.

“I want to face him and hear what he has to say with my own ears,”

“All this emotional stress won’t be good for you, Apphia,” he reasons, probably thinking back to when I was depressed after I regained my memory about what Rory did to me. Nonetheless, I’m not taking no for an answer. I feel it in my gut that Amir knows so much.

“I want to speak to Amir,” I declare, not asking a
