“Riley,” he growled through gritted teeth on the other side of the door.
“Go away, River. I am not leaving,” Riley retorted, her voice laced with fury and determination.
River jiggled the doorknob, but it wouldn’t budge. The door was locked. “Open this damn door, Riley,” he commanded.
“No,” she spat back.
“Open it or I’ll break it down,” River threatened, his voice low and dangerous.
“Don’t even think about it. This door is solid oak,” she challenged.
“Try me,” River said, his tone daring her to test him.
The door flew open, and River was met with Riley’s tearful face. “You can’t make me go with Frank.”
