Chapter 25. Jealous

“Where have you been, Kon? I missed you so badly!” Lin whined like a kid.

“Nowhere. I've been around.” Kon smiled. “I was just busy with something, that was why I never let you know.”

“Are you certain about that? I just don't trust that man at all.” Lin narrowed his eyes at Scorpion, who was sitting a few tables away from them. “Why does he have his guard with you all the time?” He whispered.

“For protection.” Kon shrugged. “He's afraid his foes might put a bullet in my head should I leave the house alone.” Kon lied without knowing that was he said was the truth.

Not only did the devil keep his guards to prevent Kon from leaving, but he also did it for Kon's protection.

This way, Kon will be protected in his absence.
