Gabriella took the paper, her hands trembling slightly as she unfolded it. Her eyes scanned the words, her expression shifting from confusion to shock.

"It's a DNA test," Enzo said quietly. "It proves that the boy isn't mine. Carmen has been lying to us both."

Gabriella looked up at him, her eyes wide. She would be pretending if she claimed to be surprised by the DNA test, it made sense now why Carmen had approached her earlier in the day regarding the child. But what was shocking to Gabriella was that Carmen knew the child wasn't Enzo's yet she didn't avoid him having a DNA test knowing the possibility of it getting him angry. 

"I only found out just as I was stepping in," Enzo replied, his voice tight. "Alejandro had gotten the papers earlier in the day but kept it till now. Lucky those bastards at work." Enzo added, drinking directly from the mouth of the bottle in his hand.
