"Yes," Dominic said, leaning forward slightly. "Even though I haven't been around much, I've been keeping an eye on you. I've seen your resilience and your desperation to gain control and secure your position. It's admirable in a way."

Sophie was taken aback by his words. She had always thought Dominic saw her as a nuisance, but now he was expressing something almost like admiration. "Thank you, Dominic. That means a lot coming from you."

Dominic nodded, his expression serious. "With Ares dead now, I need to up my game. I need a family to give me an edge, you know how things work."

Sophie's confusion deepened. "What do you mean, Dominic?"

Dominic took a deep breath, deciding to lay his cards on the table. "I'm open to the idea of marrying you, Sophie. I've considered your proposal, and I believe it could be beneficial for both of us."

Sophie's eyes widened in shock. "You want to marry me?" She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Never in a million ye
