Two days had passed since the hurried wedding at the courthouse, Martina was still recovering from her suicide attempt and Sophie was oblivious that her plans to get married to Dominic were now useless.
Back at the hospital where Ares had been taken, the atmosphere in the hospital was tense. The sun was beginning to set, casting long shadows across the sterile white walls of the hospital corridors. The soft hum of machines and the occasional murmur of voices were the only sounds in the otherwise quiet space. Amid this calm, a man and woman walked through the hallways with purpose, their footsteps echoing softly.
The man was tall, with a commanding presence that made others step aside as he walked. His sharp, dark suit was immaculate, and his expression was one of grim determination. The woman beside him was equally striking, her elegant dress contrasting with the seriousness of her demeanor. Her eyes, however, betrayed a deep concern that she could not hide.
