“I’ll be there as soon as I can,” Antonio replied, his mind already racing with possibilities.
“Good,” Enzo said, his tone brooking no argument. “Don’t keep us waiting.”
The line went dead, and Antonio stood there for a moment, the phone still pressed to his ear as he processed what just happened. Enzo’s tone had been uncharacteristically sharp, and that alone was enough to stir Antonio’s unease.
