A sudden knock at the door interrupted their intimate moment. Martina gasped softly, quickly pulling away from Ares as her hands fluttered to straighten her disheveled clothing. Ares took a step back, his gaze still heated, but he composed himself just as swiftly, buttoning his shirt before turning his head toward the door.

“Come in,” Ares called his voice steady but still carrying the remnants of the emotions that had just passed between them.

The door opened slowly, revealing Esmeralda. She stepped in gracefully, her eyes immediately catching the tension between the two. With a knowing smile, she approached them and said, “I’m sorry to disturb you, but Dad and Mum are here.”

Martina’s heart nearly stopped. She hadn’t expected to meet Ares’ parents, especially not under these circumstances. Her mind began to race, thinking of the kind of impression she might leave, especially given how tangled her emotions were after everything that had just happened.
