Book 1: Chapter 82

Gabriella's heart sank as she watched the scene unfold. The woman, elegant and poised, glanced at Gabriella with a mix of curiosity and dismissal.

"I do not remember us having our meeting here Elena," Enzo said, his voice steady but a hint of tension in his eyes. 

Elena gave a polite smile, though it didn't reach her eyes. "I thought it best to not bother you by having you come to my house," she smiled. "I believe this must be Gabriella," Elena continued, she walked towards Gabriella and extended her hand for a handshake, but Enzo got on his feet and blocked her path holding her hand and tossing it away.

"We can discuss this in my study," Enzo said.

"Come on, just introduce us. I am sure she is dying to know who I am," Elena smiled, throwing a dismissive look at Gabriella but Enzo wasn't having any of it. He grabbed Elena by the arm towards his study. 

Gabriella stood up slowly from the bench, a worried look plastered on her face as she watche
