Chapter 167. A Shocking Tale
Zach slowly withdraws from Claire, his countenance somewhat unfathomable. Claire’s brows crumple.
“What?” She wonders.
“Nothing. I've got to go now, Claire. I'll give you a call, alright?” He utters coldly, and without waiting for her reply, strides out of the room.
Claire stares on with her mouth agape and her heart beating in fear. Perhaps if she kept her big mouth shut, she would not have offended him. What if he feels insulted by her utterance? Is it over? If it is, she may never be able to forgive herself for ruining her precious plan.
“Holy fuck!” Claire screams, her frustration boiling over as she hurls the tray laying peacefully in front of her across the room. It crashes onto the white porcelain tiles with a loud metallic clang.
