Chapter 265. The Calm Before the Storm

Lara’s thoughts are swirling in a chaotic mess, each one crashing into the next like waves in a storm as everything seems to be happening all at once, within the same damned territory, and for the same damned purpose— to ruin her life. She has just returned from the police station which proves to be another dead end. The officers are just as lost as she is, unable to find a single lead, no traces, nothing. Worst of all, the witness, the mysterious woman from the park, has vanished into thin air. It’s as if she never existed. And despite her squabble with the evil blonde woman, her enemies still have the upper hand.

At this point, she has almost forgotten her mission. Fuck it! Whether anyone has figured her out does not matter any longer. The fact that one knows what’s really happening to her kids is what terrifies her more than anything.
