MADELYN’S POV

“What do you mean he no longer lives here and left where he works?” I asked the man I luckily got to see opposite my dad’s former lawyer’s apartment.

Mr. Devon couldn’t just leave. Why would he leave, and when did he stop working for my father? Something didn’t seem right.

“He left last week. I don’t know what happened, but he left, and concerning where he works, I don’t know about that,” he replied before entering his apartment.

Something was fishy, and it was so obvious because why would Mr. Devon leave and stop working at the same time?

Something didn’t seem right. I first went to Mr. Devon’s office, and there I was informed he stopped working last week. They redirected me to his house, and here I was, being told he left too.
