Fiona’s voice sounded perfectly normal, with a hint of apology.
This made Liam breathe a sigh of relief; clearly, the situation he was worried about hadn’t occurred.
Otherwise, no matter how cheerful Fiona’s personality was, there would have been some sign of awkwardness.
