The idea that Liam would use such a story, one that could fool a three-year-old, only made Quinn both angry and exasperated.
“Cut the nonsense. Hurry up and give me the money, or don’t blame me for being rude.”
Liam growled impatiently.
He didn’t have time to explain further, nor did he feel the need to.
He wasn’t borrowing money from Quinn; he was merely reclaiming what was his.
Before divorcing Karen, they were barely family, but now there was no relationship at all. Naturally, Liam didn’t have any hesitation.
“Liam, has something really happened to Lucy?”
This time, before Quinn could speak, his wife, Mary, asked nervously.
Compared to Quinn, Mary was of somewhat better character.
