I stepped out of the cramped bathroom and felt my skin settle back into its usual form. Once I was seated again, Daniel immediately curled his arm around me, drawing me snugly against his chest. Even though I was aware, in some distant part of my mind, that the rest of the pack was gathered nearby—waiting for our return—I couldn’t bring myself to care about them in that moment.
