Heart racing, Selena waited with bated breath for the red-haired girl to say something. She kept staring, playing with her fingers.

“Naive? I’m being naive?”

She sighed. “Look, I’m sorry, Cat. I just have a lot going on,” She began. “But I did nothing wrong to you or to this pack. I wasn’t the one who made Maddox leave Cassie. He did that all by himself. And as much as I wished that I didn’t have feelings for him, I do. And I can’t really change that, can I?”

Cat unfolded her arms from her chest and stood up. “Okay,” She said under her breath. “I may have been kind of a b*tch to you,” She confessed. “And I’m sorry. It was just that I really wanted us to finally have a Luna.”

“And you guys will eventually have one,” Selena replied. “I’m not saying that it’s going to be me, but I know that the Moon goddess won’t let the pack go with a Luna for any longer.”
