Chapter 116. High Emotions

Selena walked into the room, holding her breath. She did allow her mom to be the first to walk in, though. Her eyes soon fell on her sister, and her heart immediately sank.

The girl looked so…so sick.

She had lost so much weight, and her skin was pale as if she was a ghost. That was not how she had looked the last time she had seen her. And that was weeks ago.

“My baby,” Her mom broke down, sobbing as she made her way towards the bed. The girl tried to sit up but was way too weak to do so. The woman did not need her to do that though because she had already held her daughter in her arms after closing the distance between the two of them.

Selena stood by the door, just staring as her heart continued to thunder in her chest. It felt like time had stopped as she stared at her mom and sister. She felt a shiver run down her spine at the scene, followed by a few tears sliding down her face.
