Chapter 138. Too Late

A conversation later, Cassie was left in the hospital room. She called Malek later to pick her up, and she was waiting for him. But she had already been discharged.

What had she talked with the alpha about? Well, she had done this whole act, making sure that he bought into the lie that she had attempted, knowing very well that she would never do something like that.

No matter how sh*tty her life would get, she knew that she was just not the kind of person to give up on living. She did not just have high pain tolerance when it came to physical pain, but also emotional and mental pain.

But back to what she had talked about with the alpha, she had led him to believe that she was depressed and needed help. Not financial or anything, but help, as in she needed to stay close to them.

She had told him about how she felt alone and that having a friend would help. I think we all know where this is going. She ended up telling him that since Selena was literally the onl
