Chapter 23. Heart to Heart

The wind blew in Selena’s hair as she stared out the window of the moving car. She had no idea where they were going but she was intrigued about it.

It was quiet until they finally came to a stop. They were a bit far away from civilization, surrounded by a lot of trees. This was the first time that the omega had been here.

The guy killed the engine and turned to her. “Are you okay?” He checked on her.

She nodded. “Mm-hmm.” But she was lying. Yeah, she was okay, but at the same time, she wasn’t. She kept worrying about her sister, thinking if there was anything that she could do to help.

But she knew that the truth was she couldn’t do a thing. She couldn’t even pray to the imaginary goddess in the sky since she didn’t believe in that kind of thing anymore.
