The man walked out of the room, leaving Selena alone. He said that the investigation would take three business days, and that no matter what, death would be her punishment.

The only reason for the investigation was to decide what kind of way she would be killed. The council would decide whether it was going to be slow, torturous and gruesome, or whether it was going to be just quick and merciful.

Selena was beyond scared, she knew she had messed up and all she wanted to do right now was to make it right. But she didn’t think there could be any way to do that, so all she knew she had to do was to run.
