Alpha Marcus’s POV

“WHAT!?!” I slam my hand down on the desk. I don’t know how this has happened, but I need to get that pack back. They are vital to my push to get their neighboring packs to align with me. Not to mention that they have a lucrative wholesale business, which includes a nice import/export branch.

I want that pack!

I glare at Beta Malcolm.

Through gritted teeth, I hiss, “They were ready to sign at the gathering. Why did they back out? Or do you know?”

Beta Malcolm calmly stares back at me. “They didn’t really say. What they did say is that they now have a conflict and won’t be able to sign our alliance agreement. I didn’t push the issue either.”

What a freaking idiot. Why didn’t he push the matter? I need to know their reasons so I can counter them. If I don’t have the information, I don’t know how to proceed.
