Lucian POV

I had no intention of thinking about Olivia ever again. At least, that’s what I kept telling myself, like repeating it enough times would eventually make it true. She had a way of sticking in my mind anyway, though, slipping into thoughts I didn’t invite her into, making me question things I usually didn’t bother questioning. And even after everything that had happened with Kelly, Clara, and Davis, it was still her name that refused to fully leave my head.

So when I got to the police station that day, following up on the final closure of Davis’s case, I wasn’t expecting anything out of the ordinary. I just wanted it done, clean, finished, something I could finally move past.
