Chapter 170
Kelly POV
I barely made it to the sink before my stomach twisted violently again, forcing me to bend forward as I gripped the edges of the cool porcelain like it was the only thing keeping me upright. My breath came out in sharp, broken gasps as another wave of nausea hit me harder than the last, leaving me dizzy and unsteady.
A cough escaped me as I tried to steady myself, and I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand, eyes squeezed shut for a moment as if that alone could shut everything else out.
Not again.
For the past few days, something had felt wrong in a way I couldn’t ignore anymore. Not just exhaustion from everything I had been dealing with, but something deeper, more persistent. My body reacting before my mind could catch up. Mornings that started with sickness I couldn’t explain. Certain smells turning my stomach instantly. Even things I used to enjoy—coffee, perfume, food I normally didn’t think twice about—suddenly becoming unbearable.
