Scarlett’s POV

My heart hammered under my ribcage while my mind rendered me helpless in my own skin. The organ pushed the scenes forward in fast agonizing bits, making me close my eyes tightly. My hands went straight to my belly, a reminder of how the life I harbored had been created. My legs buckled but the alpha held me tightly, saving me from a fall.
