Lyra’s POV 

I cupped his cheek lovingly as I gazed into his eyes. Yes, I intended to kiss him to thank him for the best day of my life in two long years. I could relive my childhood! It wasn’t a romantic date in the genuine sense of the term, but it was the best. I got to do what I loved with my mate by my side. 

It was much more than I had ever dreamed. 

He stood like a statue, his eyes dark and brooding as he watched me. I didn’t mind this time when he didn’t cooperate. I wasn’t doing this to receive my first kiss from him, but to show him how much his thoughtfulness meant to me. 

Would he read the feelings I nurtured for him in my heart? Would he know how much I loved him? I couldn’t confess, but I could definitely show him through my actions. 

I closed the distance between us confidently but blushed as I met his fiery, unwavering gaze. Yet I didn’t move away. I would kiss him and that was final. To hell with
