Leandros’s POV
With Lyra safely locked in the trailer, I shifted and let Leo take over. We ran across the snowy terrain, all around the trailer, increasing the radius every time. Nor for once did I let the trailer out of sight. My precious mate was there and I could do anything to protect her.
I could clearly get the scent of strange wolves in the area. They were hiding, camouflaged behind the craggy rocks of the Franklin Mountains, but they were there. I snarled as I marked the territory around the trailer, ready to rip apart whoever it was.
No one came forward to confront me.
I saw a shadowy creature dash higher up the mountains, but I couldn’t follow it, leaving my mate behind.
Not even the green-eyed stalker emerged from his hiding place to face me. It was difficult to know if he was a separate entity or with the Flame Hounds. What did they need from us?
