Book 5: The Ordeal
Cerelia’s POV
I could hear the search operation going on in full swing as I crouched inside the cavern near Lake Lucien. Although I had masked my scent effectively, the Lucerians refused to give up. It was the most frustrating situation ever. Hidden deep within the cavern, I could hardly manipulate their minds. I had to see them to manipulate them. As such, there was no other way than to remain hidden until they gave up.
Hunger pangs hit me hard as I waited in vain. I needed to hunt to survive the ordeal. But it was an impossible task with the red wolves still lurking near the borders.
Even after several hours of waiting, when the search operation didn’t cease, darkness teased the edge of my vision. I tried my best to keep awake.
