Book 1: Hera’s Predicament
Lena’s POV
Hera’s reaction to my presence shocked me immensely. Didn’t Zephyrus inform her about us? I didn’t like her at all, despite Hazel’s claims.
“Yes. She’s my mate, Hera!” he stated, but Hera scoffed at him.
“Really? I thought you didn’t believe in that?” She brushed past me without acknowledging my presence. I glanced at Zephyrus, feeling insulted by his only family. What had I done to deserve this?
“I’m sorry on her behalf. She’ll come around.” He caught my hand and followed his twin, but I didn’t wish to join them. I could hear squeals echoing through the house as Hera and Hazel met in the living room. As we walked inside, they sobered and Hera glared at me again. Suddenly, I had the wish to disappear from the house.
“Sit, Lena, please,” Zephyrus leaned in to whisper. How did he know I was contemplating an escape?
“You both carry on. I’ll make dinner.” He pulled me down on the sofa beside him, paying no heed to my excuse
