Chapter 17. Unspoken Tensions
Finally reaching our destination, we expressed our gratitude to the man in the suit. Standing before the door, we took a moment to emotionally and mentally prepare ourselves before facing Silas' friends. I could sense that Silas was nervous, but I refrained from asking why. I understood that there were boundaries, and if something was bothering him, he would share it with me in his own time.
"Hey," I called his attention, wanting to offer reassurance. "You look good, and you'll do perfectly. Let's enjoy this, okay?" I reminded him, hoping to ease any apprehension he might be feeling.
Silas smiled with his eyes and lips, his gratitude evident as he replied, "Of course. Thanks, Isla."
