Morgan's eyes widened in disbelief as she absorbed the whirlwind of events I'd just unraveled. Her shock manifested audibly in a vehement, "What the hell?" I anticipated her reaction, but her incredulity hinted at an underlying skepticism that stung nonetheless. Maybe, deep down, I had expected a more vehement response, given the chaotic and fantastical nature of my recent experiences.
"What the hell were you thinking, Isla? From what I know, you’re not that kind of person who would do impulsive things," she declared, her astonishment still palpable.
