I gently clasped her hand, offering reassurance. "Don't be saddened or apologetic. I made the choice to remain silent for all those years. What's important now is that we've broken free from him," I shared with her.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she embraced me. "I'm relieved that you're safe. If only I could go back in time and prevent you from returning to him," she sobbed.
I comfortingly patted her back. "I understand. I share that wish as well," I acknowledged.
We disengaged from our embrace. Thoughts of a particular person lingered in my mind, creating a sense of apprehension about seeking information. Despite my fears, I couldn't resist inquiring about Silas.
"Have you been in touch with Silas? Is there any information about him?" I inquired.
She took a moment, then shook her head. "W-we severed connections after you departed," she replied.
I nodded, averting my gaze. "I wish he had a good life," I expressed.
