Matthew Hussey leaned back in his executive half-a-million-dollar chair, rolling and cackling to himself. He had done well. He was sure Adam would cave in, and Veronica would eventually admit to herself that he picked the right man for her.

Laughing louder, he spun in his chair, wondering if he needed to have a degree in matchmaking if he eventually retired from business. After all, he had to have something to keep his mind off boredom when his plans eventually worked as he hoped he would.

He could already see the grandchildren from Adam and Veronica around his living room and bringing the fun he wanted into his life. He snorted at Veronica’s stubbornness and anger that he had dared to bring a guy into her life.
