Chapter 52
Mirian hung up the phone and tried to compose herself. She realized that drowning her sorrows in alcohol wouldn’t solve anything, so she ordered a non-alcoholic drink and sat at a corner table in the bar.
As she waited for Kaylin to arrive, Mirian couldn’t help but replay the painful scene she had witnessed earlier in her mind. It was like a knife twisting in her heart. She had trusted Red so much, and the betrayal felt unbearable.
Moments later, Kaylin rushed into the bar, looking worried. She quickly spotted Mirian sitting alone and walked over to her.
"Mirian, what happened? Why are you so upset?" Kaylin asked, her concern evident.
Mirian couldn’t hold back her tears any longer. She reached out and grabbed Kaylin’s hand, her voice trembling. "Kaylin, I saw something terrible today. I can’t believe it."
